Morocco Design Inspiration

Morocco is full of design inspiration. I was lucky enough to visit some stunning locations that have inspired my design career over the years.

Below is a little preview of some of the amazing locations I visited.

The Royal Mansour Hotel and Spa was design heaven. It was built under commission for King Mohammed VI, the Mansour in Marrakech is the gold standard of luxury with just 53 private riads and of course that enchanting spa. The arch doors are just as photogenic as the stunning wrought iron atrium in the interior. Royal Mansour Hotel and Spa Royal Mansour Royal Mansour interior Royal Mansour Resort Royal Mansour design

Kasbah Tamadot, located in the Atlas Mountains outside of Marrakech, owned by Richard Branson was pure luxury.

Meknés, where we saw the famous Bab El Mansour gate and the Royal Stables.

The soul of Morocco. Fez has the most stunning mosaic work and the colours in the tanneries were a piece of artwork.

Rabat, the capitol of Morocco. The beautiful blue hues throughout the city inspire many interiors around the world.

Design Trends: New Missoni Home Collection

Missoni is well known for their iconic zigzag colourful prints. The new Missoni home collection is perfect for adding a pop of colour and style to a neutral palette. The iconic brand has been around for over 60 years.

According to Elle Decor the new range is designed by Rosita Missoni, “the collection offers ideas for decorating and furnishing the home in innovative ways.” The wide range of colours and patterns in this home collection can be used in almost any home.

Ferrari Interiors often adds pops colour to neutral spaces to ensure longevity of our designs. We can definitely see these stunning throws and cushions having a place inside many homes.

From throws to tableware, cushion and woven rugs, there is something for everyone in this eye popping collection.

Take a look for yourself.

Celebrity Insider: Model Jasmine Tookes Beverly Hills Home

Jasmine Tookes travels all over the globe for her work as a model but returns to her traditional style home in Beverly Hills to host family and friends.

According to Elle Decor, Tookes worked with Design Works to create a modern home with a farmhouse twist. “I loved that their aesthetic was clean but also comfortable, so I reached out to their founder, Robin Strickler, to redo the interiors,” Tookes says.

The home is full of bright neutral colours and natural textures. She states the home is “Just like my own personal style, my design taste is very feminine and light—blush tones, comfortable silhouettes, and a variety of textures were key for me”.

Her home office is a drastic change from the bright light shades in the rest of her home. She utilises this space as a backdrop for videos and images posted on her social media accounts.

Milan Design Week must sees

Milan Design week was April 9 – 14 this year. Milan’s Design week is one of the busiest on the design calendar.

It features installations from builders, architects, designers, as well as fashion and technology brands. The exceptionally curated installations are displayed in historic and industrial locations throughout the city.

Some of the featured designers this year included Kohler, Tom Dixon’s restaurant and showroom the Manzoni, Raf Simons’ collaboration with Kvadrat, London based fashion brand COS, Note Design Studio, and Pleasure & Treasure by Advantage Austria.

The installations impressed and were nothing short of spectacular.

Take a look below at some of our favourite images from this years Design week.
