Introducing Bikini Berlin: the uber stylish ’25 hour’ hotel
There’s a new kid in the hotel scene and it’s one unlike any other. The ‘25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin‘ is part of the 25hour hotel franchise – seven hotels in five European cities that promise to be:
“not merely ‘off the shelf’, but tailored to each location. Sometimes cool, sometimes colourful, sometimes nostalgic, sometimes mundane – 25hours hotels offer not only bed and breakfast but plenty of entertainment, surprises and fun, too”.
The four men behind the 25hour hotels – Christoph Hoffmann, Kai Hollmann, Ardi Goldman and Stephan Gerhard – commission artists and film-set designers to create hotel interiors inspired by pop culture rather than convention.
Hotel Bikini Berlin lies in the heart of Berlin’s City West district, overlooking the Tiergarten Park and Berlin Zoo to one side an the bustling shopping strips and Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church on the other.
Fittingly, the creators used an ‘urban jungle’ concept for the hotel. Half of the rooms are called ‘Jungle’ and offer views of the ape house and the elephant enclosure at Berlin Zoo. The remaining rooms go by the name of ‘Urban’ and offer views of the Berlin cityscape. Guests can also enjoy an in-house DJ, the Woodfire Bakery, ‘Monkey Sauna’ and the ‘Monkey Bar’, which overlooks the zoo’s monkey enclosure.
