5 simple tips to get your property sale-ready for Spring

May 22, 2022

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, the nights are slowly getting longer and before we know it, Spring will be upon us! Be ahead of the curve and start refreshing your interiors to get Spring-sale ready. A few small, considered changes are the difference between lukewarm interest and an outstanding sale. You needn’t spend a fortune to achieve this, but there are some foundation principles you can apply that will elevate you above the rest.

  1. Spring clean your life

We have one word for you, declutter. Before anyone steps through that door, or even thinks about taking listing photographs, be certain you are presenting a home that people will actually want to live in. Put yourself in your prospective buyers’ shoes and work backwards. Organise every room of the house and ensure its clear and clutter-free so people can visualise what they’ll do with it (do they want to see your speaker cords running down the side of the lounge wall? I think not).

  1. Foliage and blooms

Bring the outdoors indoors for a fresh pop of colour. Hire or buy potted plants and place on a stool to add vibrancy and height to that lacklustre corner. If you have a smaller space, toy with different heights of vases filled to the brim with cut flowers and foliage. Choose hardier varieties and change the water every two days to ensure longevity.

  1. Let there be light

Show off the natural light of each room and let it shine. Swap heavy curtains for linen and cotton fabrics, which will soften the room and give a lighter edge. Strategically place mirrors opposite windows in rooms which are dimly lit to disperse more natural light throughout while simultaneously giving the illusion of a bigger space.

  1. The strongest sense

Researchers have long said that smell is the strongest of the senses. Entice visitors and potential buyers with delightful scents. Soy citrus candles give off an air of freshness and a vibe of new beginnings or alternatively use a steam aroma diffuser with some amazing native Australian essential oils such as tea tree or peppermint eucalyptus to give a sweet, natural aroma throughout your home.

  1. Style it up

Enlist the help of a property stylist and save yourself hours of decisions. A fresh pair of professional eyes can do wonders for a property that you know like the back of your hand, realizing the properties’ full potential creating scenarios you couldn’t dream of.
