There's just something about farmhouses - their large proportions, earthy interiors and expansive grounds. We particularly like farmhouses when they've been meticulously decorated by fashion designers.
James Perse is an American designer, who is just as passionate about interiors as he is clothing. He designs fashion that's based on elegance and comfort - and interior pieces that would be right at home surrounded by minimalist architecture and indoor / outdoor living.
So it's no surprise that Perse's Malibu farmhouse is the epitome of this aesthetic. On the market for $13 million, the estate exudes the same casual-cool style of his label.
Sitting on a 1.8 acre piece of land, the Point Dume home is surrounded by landscaped grounds that include a swimming pool, dining pergola and a terrace complete with a fire pit.
Inside, muted tones flow throughout, with hardwood flooring and wooden pieces of furniture that look as though they've been collected from travels around the world.
Stand out features of the 6 bedroom, 5.5 bathroom home are the French doors in the living room that open out onto the large terrace, and the Juliet balcony in the bedroom along with a freestanding tub.
Take a look...
