Highlights from Milan Design Week

May 22, 2022

As one of the most anticipated events of the year, and the world's biggest global design gathering, we had to capture our favourites. Accompanied by the iconic furniture fair Salone Del Mobile, celebrating their 60th edition.

Carried out between the 5th - 10th of September 2021 in Europe's largest exhibition centre, the Fiera Milano exhibition facility. Salone del Milano this year was curated by architect Stefano Boeri, after being postponed and cancelled due to the pandemic. Allowing the public to be able to attend all days of the fair, re-adjusting the layout from previous years, so all products were displayed on the walls instead of booths. Stefano wanted the fair to "demonstrate that Milan is alive".

New homewares from Versace and other big names like Hermes, Dior, Gucci and Armani. These High-End brands have expanded their home collections and we are loving it! With their use of bright patterns and innovative furniture designs, these showrooms were definitely one's not to miss.

Many substantial investments also went towards sustainable technologies to re-design furniture as we know it. With the use of recycled computer monitors, aluminium, PET plastic bottles and glass from old televisions, artists were able to create exceptional designs whilst thinking towards a positive impact on the Earth.
