The Caravan and Camping industry is currently experiencing a boom, after the industry (unwittingly) benefitted from Australian Covid border closure. In fact, the wait time for some new vans is well over 18 months, struggling to keep up with demand.
But, let’s admit it, the world of interior decoration seems to have slightly bypassed the caravan industry. Certainly, there are some clever design aspects, especially in relation to space saving. But, in general, there seems to be a preference for practicality over getting the heart racing with visual appeal.
Fortunately, there are exciting changes being made, with some newmodels having distinctively un-caravan-like elements such as tasteful fabrics, flush cabinetry and high-quality appliances. If you thought that having the latest Jayco would make everyone in theBig4 park jealous, then check out these beauties ….
Airstream Flying Cloud
Who said working from home had to actually be at home. The Airstream Flying Cloud Office Model is the ultimate mobile workspace. Picture it, a Zoom meeting at 9, send a few emails and be off to the next town in time for lunch.
Adria Astella
Is it a van or an apartment? The Adria Astella blurs the lines. European designed and built, it has simple uncluttered design combined with sophisticated functionality.
Bowlus Endless Highways
With an exterior that looks like a bullet and an interior that is reminisce of a luxury yacht. The Bowlus Endless Highways van is priced from a cool $260,000 (USD of course). The bathroom of the Bowlus is particularly striking as it features a large, separate hotel-style shower with teak finishes in the seating and flooring.
Arc Teardrop
If something a little smaller is more your style (and your towing capability!) then the Arc teardrop may be the van to inspire you. It is basically a double bed on wheels with an external kitchen. Its form is that of the shape of a teardrop, its just sooo cute. It also has some well thought out features, including the sky window that allows you to view the stars whilst in the comfort of your bed.
It is quite evident that interior style is finally making a big splash in the caravan industry. If you do see a van that is inspiring, please drop me a line.
Safe travels over the Easter break.
