Set at the Whitsundays' Northernmost point, picturesque Hayman Island re-opened its lavish resort, One & Only, on July 1st this year. The resort underwent an $80 million refurbishment, re-designing the accommodation and pools, and reducing the number of rooms from 209 to 160.There is a range of accommodation with four options to choose from. There is the Hayman Wing with guest rooms for couples or up to six people. Rooms are styled in neutral colours ensuring a restful, peaceful getaway. The Hayman Wing also offers penthouse suites, each individually designed for nothing less than a luxurious escape. The Pool Wing is designed for those looking for a resort holiday. All rooms either have direct swim-out access to the pool or stunning views of the Coral Sea. Finally, there is the Beach Wing. Each room in this wing is designed for peacefulness and privacy, and the ultimate beach-side experience. Also included in the One & Only experience are numerous day beds and cabanas, a retreat room, private beach houses and a tasteful selection of restaurants. The overall design, including interiors and landscapes, can be accredited to a collaboration between Australian designers DBI design and Kerzner International Development. Their aim was to attract mostly couples and families looking for an escape, and set among the natural background of teal sea and greenery, this is exactly what it offers.
